in colorado. very dehydrated

work sent me here to look at colleges and write about them. my impressions: university of colorado-boulder (my first stop) is a lot like ann arbor, but in the mountains and hence way more beautiful.

(note: i did not take this picture. i do not have access to a helicopter or plane or blimp, but the pics i took were crappy and honestly, if the pics are crappy and unfunny, what’s the point? besides copyright infringement)
i know i could look this up on the internets, but could someone explain to me why you get dehydrated from the altitude? so so so thirsty, goddamn.
the high altitude causes you to ventilate more to get the same amount of o2 into your body. you lose a little h2o with each breath you take…so, more breaths due to the high altitude = more water loss. the high altitude can also cause you to sweat more easily!
and if you’re drinking coffee, pop, etc. that may contribute to the dehydration
i forgot to mention that there is a fabulous crepe place (Crepes A La Cart) near the main strip there. also, Hosea from Top Chef: NY was (but may no longer be) the executive chef at a seafood place there that Loren and i missed out on, called Jax Fish House.
enjoy boulder and the rest of CO!
so what you’re saying is that breathing is the problem. i should stop doing that then.
i saw that crepes place, but i went for the burritos next door. burritos will always beat crepes in my heart.
