cool video

i don’t necessarily vouch for this cause (although it seems worthy enough), but this girl effect video is impressively effective:
i suggest you watch it on the site itself, but it’s mesmerizing, no?
i especially like how they don’t exploit the topic. i think we’re all numb to pics of sad-looking poor children, and this has a meta self-awareness that i can appreciate. have i donated anything yet? no comment.
Ali,
I repeat my endorsement: Don’t ever talk about serious things like brussel sprouts or string theory.
This video appears to be very heavy in the brussel sproutage category and light in the skunkage category.

I don’t think it quite works like that. How are you going to take away her HIV? Oops, you can’t. It’s a virus. Her kid probably has it, too. Now what?
when you go to the website they offer you a choice. But even if you disagree you gotta watch the video. That’s messed up.
Why is there no substance on the website? No message, no links, nothing. This video is as useful as saying aliens will come and grant enlightenment to all and there will be world peace. I’m assuming that it advocates micro-financing, but if this movie affected me how the hell would i actually help?? And while all of these problems seem easy to tackle when they’re simply block lettering on a video, in reality they are debilitating factors that put so much physical exertion on people that they are unable to think at a higher level much less show any financial savvy. Micro-finance only works in the right conditions. Ugh, this video makes me confused and angry.
