cinco de mayo

in honor of a battle that mexicans won in a war they eventually lost, i made some mediocre turkey enchiladas and went to the national cinco de mayo festival on the mall sunday. it wouldn’t be a slightly misrepresented mexican holiday without:

sombreros.

men in neon colors and girls in cute dresses.

horses.

   Um, I had Taco Bell…and we watched Dora the Explorer a few times. Sounds like you had a little more fun…

   You forgot booze. You can’t stereotype and denigrate a people’s holiday without lots and lots of booze. Especially booze that the native culture wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole (ie carona and jose; st. patty’s day – irish car bombs, oktoberfest…jager) Geez.
